lecturers make less than RNs (no penalty rates). professor of nursing may earn more than hospital nurses

retrival nurses are level 3 clinical nurses getting good rates with penalties 42/hr base rate 100-110k per year prolly.

if your half decent you'll get level 2 clinical nurse in most areas of the public system (which pays better than private) 36/hr base prolly 90k with weekends and nights.

straight out of uni base rate 25/hr prolly 62k for the year. all nurses in the publicsystem have the same award in south australia so nursing home, home nursing, clinic nurses, wards, intesive care, emerg nurses all get the same rates in the public system which usually pays better than private hospitals and GP clinics would be indivdual negotitation

penalties are standard for day/early shift, 112.5% for afternoon/late, 120.5% night duty, saturdays 150%, sundays 175% and public holidays 250%, casual is 20% loading.

trained to save your life

flexible with coping with all mental states of mind
lab work
working holidays
assisting in surgery
OSHA trained
privacy act knowledge
malpractice knowledge



NEED I SAY MORE. Because I think this list could go on and on. And that is just an ordinary nurse. The Hospice nurses are the best out there and you would want your mother or father to be treated by a well paid, educated, caring nurse.
I hope this justifies why they get paid what they get paid. It's the most thankless job. Sure they make it look effortless but you have no idea what type of pressure they are under by the doctors that watch every move they make.

Just because it's sealed does not mean that you do not have to disclose it when applying for a regulatory license. They will get a Computerized Criminal History, which is part of the rap sheet. If they determine you lied, you could be banned from applying for some years.

Before you decide to give up medical school because of your shoplifting charge, check with the licensing agency and see how long you have to wait before you can apply for the position after your conviction date.
