Legal Nurse Careers

Norma Said:

"Legal Assistant (Similar To A Legal Secretary) VS. LVN Licensed Nurse Training ? See Below>>>"?

We Answered:

You may regret taking a job in a field you don't care for. You may want to look around for a roommate to share living costs. Do what feels best for you and will make you feel better.

Juanita Said:

Does anyone have any info on Legal nurse consulting?

We Answered:

I too have seen the certification courses however I am leary about the job prospects once you have completed the certificaton. I never see adds listed for 'certified legal nurse consultant' position open so I am afraid the only one making money from that venture is the person who is offering the certification. Of all the nurses I know, no one is a legal consultant. Some have gone to law school which is a good move. Maybe you should consider that!

Tanya Said:

Is a career as a professional legal secretary difficult?

We Answered:

why not shoot higher? why secretary? go for lawyer. why nurse? go for doctor.

Yes...professional legal secretary is demanding.

Phyllis Said:

I am stuck between pursuing a BA in either legal studies or interdisciplinary studies. Can anybody out there?

We Answered:

Any major that ends in the word "studies" does not prepare you for any occupation. Stay in nursing but become and RN so you do not have to do the grunt work. Good Luck!

Claude Said:

Law(Legal Field) or Nursing(Nurse Practioner, which degree is worth it?

We Answered:

You need to determine why you want to become a nurse practioner...no where in your post have you mentioned why you would want to make that change.

If you already have a BS in Criminal Justice it would be a waste of time for you to get a two year RN. You have the sciences (most of them) already thus you should consider
your BSN. The nursing school is going to want to make sure your sciences and math courses are current. You then just need to focus on nursing for some time before determining if you want to become a nurse practitioner.

You really need to be sure nursing is something you have a calling for...that's what makes the difference between someone who just shows up to work and someone who truly makes a difference. Nursing can be a hard field.

Good luck with your decision.

Brandy Said:

Is 56 too old to change careers and become a nurse?

We Answered:

Honestly, yes. I think because of your age you will have a hard time finding work since you would have no work history in the medical field. If you are looking for something new, try a health care aid or CNA which only takes 6 weeks to get your certification. And as much as I dont want to be judgemental.... at 56 you would have to worry about developing your own health problems. These should be the years to relax and enjoy..... so ENJOY it!
