Licensed Practical Nurse Careers
Albert Said:
Is going to school to become a Licensed Practical Nurse really worth it?We Answered:
Okay I may not be an actual Nurse, but I have been a Nursing Assistant for about 4 years now and I can tell you it is worth it! I am in college pursuing another career choice because nursing isn't interesting to me like it use to be, and you will here that a lot. BUT the pay aspect is actually pretty decent. I make 12.50 per hour as a CNA!! I know that doesn't sound like much, but it is actually up there as far as CNA pay goes. LPN's though I have worked with have said they make about 15$ an hour. On the west coast, washington state in particular, they make upwards of 20-25$ an hour!! I am from there and that is where I started this profession so I know that for a fact. And nursing AGENCIES will pay you BIG $$$$$ too so those are worth looking into. I would still encourage you to get your RN, but for right now the LPN is perfectly fine!! DO IT!Jay Said:
Licensed practical nurse or physical therapist assistant? We Answered:
I believe the pay is about the same,I'm not sure, however I know a few people who are LPNs, and they say that they hate it. In a hospital they have get paid less and have to do more. Compared to a nursing home they get paid more and do much less. I'm not sure for a PTA but if you look on salarycalculator.com it will tell you on average how much they both make in you state and nationally too.As for LPNs very very very much in demand without a doubt!!!!!!!!!

how does someone start a career training schools for licensed practical nurses? We Answered:
Schools of NursingIn the United States, there are two nursing organizations that accredit schools of nursing: the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (ASN, BSN, MSN) and the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (BSN, MSN). Schools may choose which organization will accredit them and can have accreditations from both organizations. Visit the following web sites for listings of accredited schools of nursing and doctoral nursing programs.

help on becoming a LICENSED PRACTICAL NURSE? My career choice! [:?We Answered:
if you are 18, you can enroll in a vocational school, or since you are a junior, if your gpa is high enough (like at least a 3.5) you can enroll in a university or community college near you to get your basics out of the way,i would go ahead and get your RN, its only 1 yr more of school (for the associates), but there are more career possibilities, and about 1 1/2 times more money too
good luck
Alberto Said:
What is the annual salary for a licensed practical nurse? Is this a good career choice? We Answered:
Not a bad career choice. Pay depends on where you work and what region you work in. Average salary is about 17.00 per hour. Working conditions usually suck! Go for your R.N instead!Amy Said:
Pros and cons for becoming a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or a Dental Hygienist? Best Career path?? ?We Answered:
As a nurse let me first strongly encourage you NOT to be a nurse. The profession is just not for the patients anymore. And, the staff are overworked, are indeed quite understaffed to satisfy budget needs, and underpaid for what is expected of them (again due to the budget.)I would suggest dental hygiene. Less responsibility. Nice perks as most Docs take their employees on cruises. And you will get nice teeth.
