Lpn Agency Jobs

Juan Said:

Is it better to work a FT job or an agency (nursing)?

We Answered:

Which is better depends on your goals. Both FT job and Agency work have their pluses and minuses.

FT job you get:
1) Subsidized medical benefits.
2) Retirement Pension and/or 401 K plan
3) Paid Vacations
4) Time off with pay when you get sick
5) Priority with medical care when you get hospitalized.

Agency you get
1) Generally none of what you get with FT job
2) Higher pay for the hours you work
3) Freedom to choose the assignments you accept

Agency is excellent for people who have another source of income or for whatever reason don't want to be tied to a job as a career. FT job is better if you are taking care of a family and you want security.

Bradley Said:

are the lpn jobs really decreasing?

We Answered:

The need for LPN's is still big! My advice to you would be to make sure you really enjoy and cherish taking care of other people. You'll need to make sure you take care of yourself, too. If you are able to get additional certifications in your state (I'm not familiar with the laws there), go for it! One big thing that will help is if you get IV certified.
Private duty is more difficult if you are going on it alone. Different laws, etc. make it hard to go into business for yourself, but if it's through a home health agency, it pays well.
Good luck!

graduated as a LPN in NJ cant find a job?

We Answered:

Congrats on passing the State Board Examinations, and for the persistence in completing school. That is such a major accomplishment.

Nursing is most definitely in demand. Since you have your credentials, that opens doors. It's a catch 22 once you complete school everyone screams they want experience. How can you get it unless someone gives you a chance? I know I've been there as a H.I.T. student (Med. Records)

While going to College it was discussed that L.P.N is a field they are trying to get rid of. So I would suggest you continue to go forward and complete the necessary courses as a R.N.

It has nothing to do with being a male, they really are preferred when there's certain tasks at hand. Do a google of Nurses and Traveling Nurses, there's all kinds of agencies out there. If you take a position for now that can get your foot in the dooor, so when you finish training you'll already be at a desired place of employment.

I live in Michigan #51 for unemployment, there's nothing but nursing jobs here. Good Luck to you!

Stacy Said:

where can I find a job as an LPN here in nj?

We Answered:

I am surprised to hear that in NJ you can't find a job. I know 2 people who recently graduated LPN program and found a job within 1 month. Try different types of places, hospitals, retirement homes, etc. Not just retirement homes. I know LPN's don't just work there.

I was recently in my community college in the Nursing Advisement office and they have these Nursing Magazines and Medical Magazines about the Nursing profession that have LOTS of ads for local companies hiring for nurses. Consider this.

Don't just try craigslist. Big companies don't post unprofessional looking ads like that. Try the newspaper and most importantly get out there and apply apply apply.

Good luck!
