LPNs can work in clinics, home care, private doctors offices, and as nannies.I am also in nursing. I am a Registered Nurse and regret my decision to get into this crappy field. Unfortunately, we don't really get to take care of our patients or make a difference..and the jobs..well..they practically don't exist.
Just hang in there hon. I'm taking Finance classes and have a semester left before I leave this awful field for good. I only pray I can pay off all these nursing school loans.

Go online and research hospitals and clinics in the cities you're considering. I personally don't know if Colorado hospitals routinely use LPNs so you'll have to check job postings and find out. Investigate Sub-Acute Care centers, rehabs and long-term care. For money, run a search for "average LPN salary by state". You'll hit paydirt.Or you can hook up with a registry. Some of them network with registries in other states. Don't forget to contact the Colorado State Board of Nursing in advance to find out what the licensing requirements are.

Have you checked with any of the area hospitals? I grew up in Lancaster area and the industry is exploding out there. Although, as a nurse in a Bucks County hospital, I see LPN's getting utilized less and less (in fact, they are used as aides and techs in my hospital).Also, there are a wealth of nursing homes in the area. Willow Street is PA's Florida as there are homes and retirement communities throughout that town.
