Military Nursing Careers

Terrance Said:

Will military service and nursing soon be the only viable careers in the United States?

We Answered:

The way things are going now? Probably.

I have no desire to be military or nursing. I have my own destiny to chart.

Shannon Said:

Should I get out the military if I am pursuing a career in nursing?

We Answered:

I would ETS and finish school. That way your focus can be on the nursing degree.

Vanessa Said:

Military nursing: Which branch to join and how does their program work?

We Answered:

Always GO ARMY, as far as the branch is concerned. Look on the branches websites and they will tell you all you need to know to get into their nursing programs. But that commits you to being a nurse. If you are going to be a doctor, look at it from that angle instead, not the nursing program.

Lloyd Said:

Careers for moving military wives?

We Answered:

Teaching is a big one. I have a psychology degree and once I get my Masters I can work on any Army post on the planet in their psych services.

My husband and I just PCSed to a new post. Finding a job isn't easy here. Everyone on post keeps telling me they need teachers and asking me if I even have a substitute teaching certificate. But I dont.

Nursing Career or Military?

We Answered:

Nursing while in the military. Or get your Associates in nursing, pass your boards and then go into the military.

Lisa Said:

What is the best branch of the military for someone interested in a nursing career?

We Answered:

I know that with Army ROTC you could get the Army to send you to college. You would graduate get a nursing degree, be commissioned a 2nd Lt then serve out the 4 years or so you owe them.

Check out the web site for each service then go visit the military science department at the university of your choice. Talk to the staff and cadets.

Good Luck

Cecil Said:

Which military branch is better for career in nursing?

We Answered:

I would go with Navy. All of the hospitals run on Marine Corp bases are Naval Hospitals. If you join the army, there may be a chance that you'll have to deploy overseas. (Not that there isn't one in the Navy.)
