Nurse Job Opportunities

Brent Said:

What Job opportunities does a Licensed Vocational Nurse have?

We Answered:

since you are saying LVN, i assume you are on the west side of the country. I hear that the west is phasing them out more than the east. In Indiana LVN's (known as LPN, licensed practical nurse), have many opportunities and on the floor I work on responsibilities are almost exactly as an RN. Outside of hospital work nursing homes are always in need and pay decently.

Jack Said:

Nurse getting MBA: Job opportunities?

We Answered:

I am the Branch Director for a Home Health/Staffing company. We employ RN's as Clinical Directors. They are responsible for overseeing the clinical aspect of the Home Care as well as contributing to the Operational/Business side of the the branch.
This may be an avenue you might want to consider as it will encompass both your love of nursing along with your knowledge/skills in business.
You would also be well suited to be a Branch Director. We currently have BD openings in St. Petersburg & Miami.
The jobs are out there... don't get discouraged!!!

Physicians Assistant versus Nurse Practicioner. Which allows for more job opportunities prior to graduating?

We Answered:

I personally never would go for PA just because I wouldn't like to have to explain to everyone "Well, I'm not EXACTLY a physician...."

and

"Well I can't tell you anything unless I clear it with the REAL doctor here, first..."
