nursing assistants really don't make much at all.
they would start at about $9-ish/hr. of course, that would differ depending on where you live, but that's a basic average, 9 or 10 per hour.
plus, you would have to go to school to be a nursing assistant, which would cost money. it's not a long program, but it still costs money that would take a while to gani back.
if you want to go back to school, then go to become an RN or LPN and really commit to it. RNs can make very good money. i would venture that my mom makes about $20-30/hr and my sister is an RN, but she has gone into hospital administration/management, so she's making a lot more.

as for a hair stylist. once again, you would need to go to school, so make sure that's in your plan. THEN, you would need to find a salon to work at. there are various operations. some work on commission, some you have to pay "rent" for your station, some just pay and hourly rate...these would be low grade places and chains (sometimes).

my friend is a hairstylist at one of the nicest salons in our area and she makes very good money. i can't give you and exact, but she probably clears 500-600 per week. that's a guess...maybe more, i don't know.
her money depends on how busy they are too. she'll make a killing during prom/homecoming season and then some weeks she'll be pretty slow.
i do know that if/when they move they will be hurting b/c she has built up her clientele, here, and if they move, then she will have to build up clients all over again. that can be hard to do and they would suffer a bit until she could establish herself wherever they moved to.

so, just some things to think about.

now, i would like to toss out there that money isn't everything and you should do whatever makes you happy.
find something that makes you feel good and happy and THEN figure out a way to make money at it.
