Of course it is a scam.
But when people act like it is real, it might as well be real!
$40,000 a year tuition sure helps weed out the poorer classes at semi selective schools, the real work world really will age young people much faster than 4 to 10 years of party time and that helps keep the classes distinct!
In the days of high speed internet we could all be "smart" - it's a scam!
A lot of things are really fiction, doesn't mean they're going away.

In 1820 the Hawai'ians encountered writing for the first time, by 1840 they had universal literacy
and nearly all adults spoke 2 or 3 languages. No schools.
Compulsory education put an end to that -by outlawing the Hawai'ian language and segregating people by dialect. Most schooling is a tool of the elites to promote ignorance.

I wouldn't mind having a hot personal nurse to take care of me. There is a good nursing program here in Hawaii and its very competitive to get in. Even people who get straight A's for the prerequsites get rejected from the program. They only take in so many students at a time. The reason why they say the career in nursing is rising is because plenty people are trying to get in the program but only a few will be selected.

Now that being said there is one thing really to consider and that is, how many productive years does a person have ahead of them, and are they enough to allow you to enjoy the fruit of your labor?

2 must read books, "Do What you love and the Money will follow" Marsha Steiner (Name sp?) and "Transitions" by Bill (William) Last name escapes me right now. However Google those two books and you have enough of the name. Ebay or 1/2.com for around $5.00-9.00 on those. (My Guess)

What Marsha Steiner and Bill ? both advocate is making a responsible change and you already have many skills that can help you transits. The Governor of California is a good example of transitions, Body Builder - to Action Actor - to Politics.

If you are 80 and planning on going back to school and starting at ground zero and becoming an MD, Will you have enough years ahead of you to enjoy the result of all that work; however the joinery may be the goal.

What is a "Career" I am in my 50's and just now getting a chance to finish a college degree, additionally I had wanted to study with a certain martial Arts Master and therefore, took care of business where I lived, moved 1500 miles, and took it from there, and that was when I was 50.

Money has not been a problem. I have sufficient income to get by. I also live a very non-extravagant lifestyle too.

What you may find is a connection between what you are now doing and the field you want to head into, and that may make the transition much smoother, and as you progress old skills will help and you aquire new ones in the process.
