Johnnie Said:
Which is better, a Career in Financial Planning, or Nursing?!?We Answered:
Nursing for sure. Can't out source the job. I can get someone overseas to do my financial planning. Financial planners only do financial planning. Nurses are employed and many industries doing a lot more than just taking care of patients.CNALessonPlans.com is a site that helps nurses start there own CNA schools. They submit all the paperwork and will even write your lesson plans. These schools make over $8,000 per month. This is just an example of how many options nurses have.
Go go indeed.com and type in Financial Planner, and then Nurse and compare salaries and the number of job openings.

Planning on pursuing a nursing career, Im 9mos pregnant & a mother of a 2yr old...I need advice.?We Answered:
i agree. its pointless to go for the lpn in most states a 2 yr degree for nursing is the best way to go and it pays the same as a 4yr nursing grad. nursing school is very demanding and hard. you have clinicals and exams and have to be good at math and sciences so you must dedicate alot of time for studying too. if you have a support system that can help with the kids while you do this go for it, but be prepared to give up alot of time for your degreeGilbert Said:
Financial Planning or Nursing as a career? We Answered:
Financial Planning is a very competitive and sales oriented position. It seems opposite to nursing except one aspect, you could help people invest their money wisely. Unfortunately, much of financial planning (stocks/bonds/investments) is about commission more than helping people. Check out the movies "Boiler Room" or "Wall Street" for examples - they're dramatized, but I think much of the underlying points of the movies apply to the real world.But... there's much more to a business degree than financial planning, in fact, there's more to finance than that specific field. I majored in Finance and work for a large corporation as an analyst, helping others by supporting the success of the company and it's employees by assisting them make financially smart decisions. It's not directly helping make the world a better place, but working for a company that makes a difference in the world also gives a job meaning.
I think you should focus on the pre-requisite courses while researching these career options; you've got a little time before you have to decide on one and apply to other schools. BTW, I think community college is a very smart choice! Does your school have a guidance counselor/office you can visit for help in making this decision?
