Nursing Job Opportunities

Jane Said:

which has much greater job opportunities BSIT or nursing?

We Answered:

There will always be job opportunities in nursing, as long as the baby boomers are aging. If you aren't doing well in your studies right now, then you may be better suited trying something that you enjoy more like nursing.

Alice Said:

Is Children's Nursing more limited than Adult Nursing for Job Opportunities?

We Answered:

There are more jobs for adult nurses but that's because we care for a wider age range, therefore there's more people to look after. Children's nurses care for 0-17 whereas adult nurses care for 18+ so of course there's more adults than children.

With regards jobs, you should be fine, as another user said, there are always jobs for nurses. Make sure you are 100% certain which course you want though because swapping specialities midway isn't always possible. A few of the girls on my course have wanted to change branches but they've been unable to because there are no places. Children's nursing is incredibly popular & certainly at my uni we've had no drop outs. If nursing children is where your heart really lies then go for it!

And if you haven't already discovered this site then I highly recommend it. http://www.studentnurse.org.uk/ The forum is full of advice & you could chat to some children's nurses to allay your fears. Good luck with whatever you decide to do.

Bonnie Said:

What are some job opportunities for someone with an associate degree in Nursing?

We Answered:

I WOULD GO TO MY LOCAL DOCTOR AND ASK, OR, TRY THE HOSPITAL, APPLY FOR A JOB...CAN'T HURT....GOOD LUCK

Victor Said:

If I get an associate's degree in nursing at my local college, will I still have decent job opportunities?

We Answered:

As long as you pass the NCLEX and become a Registered Nurse, you shouldn't have too many problems getting a job. Just make sure you local college isn't one of those over-priced "career colleges". All of the job postings on my hospital system's website for RN's specifically state "RN" for a primary care nurse positon...not a BSN. The only position requiring a BSN was a management one.

Jay Said:

What job opportunities are there for a CNA, and do you usually have to start off in a nursing home?

We Answered:

With the increasing population in nursing homes, CNA's are needed mostly in nursing homes. You could try and apply at hospitals as well.
