Bad news is you cannot legally get emancipated in Maryland on your own without parental consent. Not unless you can prove mistreatment by your mother, which in that case local CPS has to be the ones to bring the action. You cannot initiate on your own. Sorry, that's just how the wrote the law.

If your mother really is mistreating you, you need to report her behavior and see to it that she faces consequences for them. At the very least, it will make it impossible for her to make you leave the country if her and/or you have pending court action. It will be a good stalling tactic to prevent that at least until you are 18.

Why don't you volunteer at a hospital or blood bank or other agency where you will get some exposure to nursing? That way you will have a much better ideal of your chosen field. It would also help you understand the clinical classes that much better.

If you are going to move to Maryland, then move to the Baltimore or Annapolis areas. They have the most jobs and a more pay then some other areas of Maryland. Northwestern Maryland is also nice if you don't mind the mountains. The Eastern shore area is cheap to live in, but less pay and less jobs.
