Nursing is extremely competitive!! I start this fall in the nursing program(BSN) and im really excited! Even though your grades may be the best its still a chance that applicants like that get turned down because of the competition of several students awaiting to enter the program! My overall gpa was a 3.7 and i got in by the grace of god! It took me 2 years to complete pre-reqs and i applied and didn't get my admissions letter til February 2010. My advice is to get letter of recommendations, have an interview with the nursing admission department, get a higher gpa, health care experience as a cna recommended, and extracurricular activities and just remain positive and you should have a shot getting into nursing school but your profile seems like your on the right track so far! It is my guess you will have to take another test to be certified in SC. I was certified in NY and would have to had to take a test in NC to be certified. But, lucky for me I was on somebody's list and received a phone call about generating cash from home by doing just what they were doing. There seems to be some truth that the current economy and employment will be low for a while but I think he is missing the solution to help things. He comes from the tax the winners view rather than give business tax cuts so they will have more money to expand and hire. Reagan cut taxes and that created a lot of jobs but he could have done better by not spending as much which raised the national deficit.

Also the current administration should not be extending unemployment beneits for over 9 months, they are doing so for a year and possibly up to 2 years soon, which takes the incentive away to look for a job and raises the tax burden on the workers.

Get your license first, since this is a requirement for this specialized training. Ask among the nurses you work with about this training and how you can obtain it. If the nurses don't know, then talk with whoever's in charge of nursing education in your hospital.
