Nursing Jobs In North Carolina

Leon Said:

I want to know if liberty home care in wilmington, north carolina is really existing....?

We Answered:

Liberty Home Care is an agency with their corporate office in Wilmington, NC. They own a variety of venues, including Home Health Agencies providing RN, PT, OT, SW, HHA services per visit under Medicare Part A benefit and private insurance; nursing homes; and a hospice division. They also have a DME company (durable medical equipment). I used to work with them in the Raleigh area. I heard recently that thye are recruiting RN's from the Phillipines due to a shortage of RN's in NC. They are a great group to work for. They have several agencies and nursing homes throughout NC and down in the Myrtle Beach, SC area the last I knew. Good luck!

are there any companies in north carolina willing to accept applicants with a felony?

We Answered:

A felony might as well be the end of your real working life. Bottom line, no employer is going to hire a felon, if there is a similar or even less qualified person without a record. Okay large grocery chains cannot/will not hire you. Retail is an option as long as its like a mom and pop place. Really do you know many felons that actually find great jobs? Its really unlikely. Seven-11 may be your best bet, or simply do this...

Not every company checks your police record, so in that box that says "have you ever been convicted of a felony" check "No." I say this because many companies actually don't check backgrounds, and its even easier in small towns. After 27 hospitals and no results, its time to change the playing field. At worst, the company can simply fire you. You will collect all the pay up until that point.

Allen Said:

Should I do nursing or sonography?

We Answered:

OB sonography takes special training, both in the classroom and in an actual ultrasound lab. Nurses may use ultrasound to find the baby's heartbeat for monitoring, but that's usually the extent of it. If you are really interested in u/s, don't rely on nursing to be able to do it. Find an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program in your state: http://www.caahep.org/Find-An-Accredited…

Nurses are probably more in demand, but the market is good for Sonographers as well. You'll just need to decide which interests you more.

North Carolina?

We Answered:

My parents recently moved near Elizabeth City. The area is not that big and if you want a large town you have to drive to Norfolk,VA which is about 45minutes away. The reason prices are so low there is because not that many people are competing for the houses. Most of the people that live there are farmers or small business owners and the main industry is cotton, wheat, soy, corn, and peanut farms. However, it is near the coast and lays on the albemarle sound. But to get to the actually beaches at the outer banks it is still about a 45minute drive. If you want somewhere in NC since the beaches are really nice here I would suggest Durham or Chapel Hill. I used to live in Durham and every week the classifieds are bombarded with jobs in the medical field. The reason for this is because Duke and UNC hospitals are located in the area. I hope this helps!
