Nursing Rewarding Career

Louis Said:

what career is more rewarding, a nurse anesthesist or an assistant anesthesiologist?

We Answered:

An anesthesiologist (assistant or otherwise) is a MD--so their schooling & pay is always the longest & highest. A nurse anesthetist is a 2-3 year program after ICU type experience AFTER a bachelors in nursing. So neither is a "quick" course--both are an investment in time & money & dedication.

Is Nursing A Good Career To Get Into?

We Answered:

I would have never done anything else, but it is a young person's career, i am now 50, have had 2 back surgery's and once your back is injured that is it, never know when i go to work if it will be my last
sorry but if i were you and had to be a nurse go on and get your Nurse Practitioner. or a Physician's assistant, more $ respect and less physical work, and he stress, a nurse is a very stressful job,and for some reason, i don't know , ever position, either your co-workers are friends or foes , no in between.
many experienced nurses sure don't make it easy on the new grads.
also have you thought about Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist, Pharmacist ?? There are so many careers in Health care
what ever you choose good luck

Maureen Said:

Is the stress of nursing school worth the nursing career?

We Answered:

Nursing school is very stressful, but, depending on what you plan to do after school, the stress level may decrease. If you want to work at a doctor's office, then prepare to take a lot of vital signs, give a lot of shots, and do a lot of flu swabs. While it can get a little hectic when you have a lot of patients, it is nothing like working in a trauma center or an ICU. Outpatient work is also usually pretty low key and relaxed.

If you are willing to drop out when things get stressful and tough, you need to ask yourself if this is what you really wanted in the first place. It sounds as though you like the thought of becoming a nurse, but not the reality.

Which is a better and more rewarding career for the long run?

We Answered:

I think a registered nurse would be the best career path. I just graduated college ( business degree) and I am struggling to find a job in my field; however, I have 4 friends that were nursing graduates that have stable jobs and great pay. They also got offers from hospitals that were willing to pay off a percentage of their student loans that collected while trying to get their nursing degree.
