Operating Room Rn Jobs

Regina Said:

Is a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist a demanding job?

We Answered:

well, you're gonna have to be an RN somehow. most CRNA programs want you to have a few years as an RN under your belt. and, even now, they're trying to implement the necessity of having a doctorate to qualify for the CRNA program. or so i hear.
so, if anything, you'll probably be in school as long as an anesthesiologist. (that's with the experience in a hospital under your belt)
i can't really imagine it being too demanding. you'll still be acting as a nurse to the anesthesiologist. but if you're not up for working close with patients and you don't want to operate but just be within the vicinity of the OR, it may be a good fit.

George Said:

someone please check my grammar! 7th grade!?

We Answered:

Good job! This is very good writing for a seventh grader. No, you don't need to put a comma after the word "because." The paragraphs are correct, just make sure you indent at the beginning of each new paragraph. Like this:

What I want to be when I grow up....

Make sure you capitalize the beginning word of each sentance, such as "Being" at the beginning of the last paragraph.

The abbreviation "RN" stands for "Registered Nurse", so you don't need to put the word "nurse" after "RN".

Also make sure to capitalize your "I's". For example: ...when "I" grow up...in the second to last paragraph.

In an essay, you are not supposed to use contractions. So write "I have" instead of "I've" and so on.

Any number under the amound of ten should be spelled out. (Two instead of 2).

Great job and hope you get good grade!

Edward Said:

I've always wanted to be a Nurse, But what kind of Nurse prepares you for the Operating Room.?

We Answered:

Surgical Nurse is what the title of the person in pre-op. Generally that's kind of boring (taking vital signs, paperwork) and many RNs that are nearing retirement like that type of setting. Usually surgical nurses are fast on their game and have excellent people skills.

Ramon Said:

Whats the truth about being an RN?

We Answered:

First of all, I would not go work as a CNA. You do get stuck with the "crappy" jobs. Most hospitals have patient care techs which are a "step-up" from a CNA and most facilities do "on-the-job" training for these positions. It will give you a little better idea of what is involved in being a nurse in that you'll be doing not only "CNA" things, but also drawing blood, doing EKGs, and helping with sterile procedures. It also pays a little more than a CNA. As far as cleaning people up....if you are the nurse overseeing that patient's care, it is your responsibility to take care of them; even cleaning them up if need be. Most of the time, it takes a couple of people to clean up a bed-ridden adult. I have worked in OB since I was a student nurse (hired outside of my clinical program) and the only time I've worked with patients that needed "cleaned up" in the way you are speaking of was in my clinical program. I do "peri-care" on my maternity patients and change an occasional newborn diaper, and will empty a bedside commode of a mom on bedrest, but that's about it. As far as special training for surgery or other areas......an RN is an RN. You just will have a longer orientation time. Hope that helps with your question.
