Part Time Nursing Jobs
Tanya Said:
What part time jobs can the hospital offer now, I will be applying for the nursing program in college? We Answered:
at our hospital we offer what we call Pool jobs. which is basically on call people to call in when we need them. and that could be for any job. but in your situation you would need experience for specific jobs. you could not do nursing jobs as a part time job because you are not certified. so my best suggestion in that area is that you would most likely be doing housekeeping or doing announcements throughout the hospital. paging people ect... but in order to actually do NURSING like i said before you need to be certified.... OR you need to do job shadowing to get your foot in the door to get experience.Gertrude Said:
What are part-time jobs that a RN nurse can do?We Answered:
Nurses can find part time work at a lot of places, a lot of nursing is on a day by day basis so they have shifts available wherever they can fill them. It may be tougher if you aren't there as much to stay up on the routine, but it is doable. She should ask her supervisor about picking up shifts on other units. If she looks somewhere else, she may want to consider per-dem over part time. If she already has insurance through the full time job and is just looking for a few extra bucks when people need her this is perfect. If its slow in other places shes the last to get hours, but if things pick back up in the NICU she could potentially just roll back the hours or fill in when they really need her instead of having to quit the less flexible part time job.Marie Said:

There is no such thing as a part time police officer. You can do nursing part time and be a full time cop.Tracy Said:
Part time job for 21 year old nursing student? We Answered:
Do you have your CNA license yet? If not, get it. That would be your best option. I believe all Nurses should first work as CNAs.Seth Said:
Could I work as a part time nurse after I start a family? We Answered:
Yes, yes, and yes again! I'm a nurse and I actually work with neonates and pediatrics. I am also a stay at home Mom. Yes, that's right...I just said I'm a nurse and a stay at home Mom. Being a nurse is wonderful in that you can make your own schedule a lot of the time, depending on where you live and where you want to work. Sometimes you can just work on the weekends too, so that's good if you're married, so your spouse can stay at home with the kiddos on the weekends while you work. Some shifts you can do like a 3 on and 4 off (3 days on and 4 days off) shifts, which is nice too. Check around in your area and see what is available. Do not hold off from pursuing your dream because you're afraid you can't have a family and do it at the same time. I am very very involved and at home with my son most of the time and I also do something I love very much. Being a nurse is what I always wanted to do and being a Mom is what I always wanted too, and I'm so blessed to be able to do both. Start doing your prerequisites and then apply for nursing school. You can do it!!
