how do i translate this paragraph into spanish? We Answered:

What area of nursing should I choose? We Answered:
Oh boy.....Well, first of all, there is no law, policy, or contract that says that you need to choose an area of nursing in which to work BEFORE you even begin school....or even after you pass the NCLEX for that matter! In fact, that's one of the many reasons you have clinicals in a variety of areas. Your first goal is to get into college. Second is to be admitted to that university's School of Nursing, then successfully complete the program. During that time, you will have the opportunity to do your clinical rotation in a variety of areas, including OB and Peds. A lot of hospitals hire student nurse externs that have completed a semester or two of clinicals to work part-time on specific units. Often these students are hired as grad nurses and after passing the boards, begin working as RN's. That's how I got my job in OB. As far as salary, it varies across the US, but most RN's start off around $23-24 an hour (I'm in the northern Midwest). Since the cost of living in SCal is ridiculously high, average starting salary is probably around 5 dollars higher.

When to Travel as a teenager....?We Answered:
The Peace Corps would not take you until after you graduated from college. They say the minimum age is 18, but the only PCV who was 18 had helped run his family farm for 10 years (eight-year olds can do farm tasks.) and had been his County 4-H leader for three years. (Not chapter; county.) He was a farm advisor. He knew his stuff. The want ads in my small-town paper have three full columns begging for nurses every week. If you graduate as an RN, the Peace Corps would love to have you; so would about half the hospitals in the USA. High qualifications, (relatively) low pay and long hours mean the demand for nurses is huge and the supply is limited.
Two years in the Peace Corps as a nurse would be the travel experience of a lifetime.
When I was in high school, a friend of mine went with his family on a tour of Europe. They did six countries in 7 days. (They saw the three "BeNeLux" from the bus, although I think the stopped in the Netherlands to eat lunch and go to the bathroom.) He brought a slide show to the AFS club one noon. I still remember "This is my sister and I in front of . . .". They stayed in the Hiltons and ate cheeseburgers. They didn't learn the language(s).
The Peace Corps would be as different from that as you can get. You would work harder than you ever would again. You would change the world. You would not change much of the world, nor you would not change it much, but you would change it for the better.
I have stories and pictures about my PCV service in Sarawak, 1971 - 1972 on my web site, if you are interested. I search Y!A for the words "Peace Corps" at least once a week. You can read my answers to the most frequent questions about the Peace Corps there too:

So much for the Peace corps; on to your other question. If you travel after college for ten years, you might have a problem getting a job afterwards; for ten weeks, no.
If you can afford it, go to Canada for 3 - 4 weeks after you graduate from high school. It is almost a foreign country, especially if you go to Quebec and try to speak French, but it is safer than Mexico and almost everyone there speaks English. They drive on the right side of the road and drink their beer cold. The stamps, money and flag in front of the post office are all different.

Pediatrician or Pediatric nurse?We Answered:
Well your choice shouldn't be all about the money. Nurses do make good money especially if they put the hours in. Yes a pediatrician take around 12 to 14 years of school, nursing can take 2, 4, or 6 (your associate's degree, bachelor's degree, or your master's degree to become a nurse practitioner) I strongly suggest you look into nurse practitioner. It's in between a nurse and doctor. Their still a nurse but they can do more things than RN's can, they also have a better salary. Also the hours! Being a doctor will physically drain you. A nurse's hours are more flexible. They can choose to work three 12 hour shifts and have 4 days off, or they can work five 8 hour shifts to everything in between. I don't know where you did your research but a travel nurse pays more than a regular RN, its just less stable, your moving about every 13 week. I remember having this problem, I decided I want to be a nurse, for many reasons. The choice is ultimately up to you, but that is my opinion. I say go into nursing. Hope this helped! Good luck!Elsie Said:
Paediatric oncology nursing in the UK or Ireland? We Answered:
In the Republic of Ireland, where I live you need to be a RGN (registered general nurse) before you can apply for any specif courses in the medical field. You have to be a recognized nurse by the An Bord Altranais. You will be once you pass your final exam which happens after a four year nursing course.http://www.ait.ie/courses/science/bscnur…
I'm going here (if I'm excepted) in two years time to do this course. It's four years, full time. I then plan on going to Trinity college in Dublin to study midwifery. It's an 18 month course. I can only apply for this course, if I have registration with the An Bord Altranais. You will have to do the same. 4 years studding nursing, and then a course in what specif field you want to specialize in.
If you go to college in Scotland and become a qualified nurse there, I'm pretty sure you can apply for a specific course for pediatric oncology here in the ROI if the Scottish Nursing license is internationally recognized. Check for that.
UCD or Trinity College in Dublin are the *it ones you should look into.
I'm not sure if I answered your question(s) or not. I basically just old you all I know. I hope it was of some help to you anyway.
