Private Nursing Jobs

Denise Said:

hello im a cna looking for private jobs taking care of elderly people or even nursing homes hospital please?

We Answered:

A major growing field of home care is nonmedical. I know that with your CNA license you would be paid more, but consider the aspects of your job that you might be missing out on if you have a heart for seniors. I have been in the senior care field for 5 years now and couldn't love it more. Home Instead Senior Care is a franchised company world wide. If you go to homeinstead.com and enter your zip it will pull up the nearest office to you. Starting pay depends on the location of the office. I work in Sacramento, Ca and we start our caregivers out at $10/hour. That is more than most nonmedical companies. I'm not trying to recruit here I promise. I suggest you search online or look in the yellow pages too for these types of companies. Shoot me an email if you have any questions, I would be more than happy to help. ninavargas21@yaoo.com

Can Nurses lose their jobs for something they do, in their Private Life ?

We Answered:

Any kind of abuse will cost a nurse their license! People who are in the medical field are held to a higher standard. They can also be put on probation for not reporting abuse they are aware of!

Henry Said:

Nurses, is this nursing school debt worth it?

We Answered:

I feel you on the that. Nursing school definitely isn't cheap, but it will be worth it in the long run. I think only a select few can actually afford it, while the rest (myself included) have to loan your way through. Despite the down turn in the economy, more jobs should be available within the next decade.

The baby boomers are aging, the population is growing, and people are living longer. That said, there is definitely going to be a shortage of nurses, though it isn't as evident yet. It's also becoming increasingly hard to get accepted to some nursing programs. I'd accept the admission to the school. I don't think it's going to get any cheaper either.

Do CNA's get paid more at hospitals, nursing homes, private adult family homes?

We Answered:

Very very few hospitals hire CNA's anymore.
There has been a strong movement away from CNA's at hospitals; they only hire RN's

The dirtiest jobs (mental health/hospice) and the temp jobs are going to pay the best. But they will be the least enjoyable.

Katrina Said:

how is medicaid private duty nursing work?

We Answered:

Every state is different with Medicaid rules and regs.

I can only speak for the three states I've lived in.
1. Medicaid pays very little, you'd probably be better off working for a company who contacts out private duty nurses.
2. Medicaid in the three states I've worked do not license nurses to become providers of service because they would not have a back up incase something happened (you were sick, vacation etc). They license Nursing Registries, Nursing Agencies, Home Health Companies.
3. The patients received private duty nursing are very sick, they cannot go long without a nurse present. what if you were busy and couldn't come running.
4. Medicaid billing is extrememly complicated and easy to mess up causing you to accidently commit medicaid Fraud.
5. Medicaid Fraud patrol are serious and do take prisoners.
6. How would you get patients? They wouldn't get sent to you automaticly. You'd have to market yourself to all the doctor's offices that work with medicaid patients and then HOPE they would send the patients to you rather than a big agency with lots of staff and supervisors to complain to.
