This is a government website that gives a lot of good information on registered nurses.

Linda Said:

PLEASE HELP LAST DAY for colleges:Do I take biology and chemistry to become a registered nurse?

We Answered:

I attend a community college myself and I'm currently doing RN. If that is what you desire to do as a major then you should transfer to a community college and do 2 years there and graduate with your Associate's degree in nursing. Then you can transfer to a University and get your Bachelor's degree in Nursing too. Good luck :)

Martha Said:

Do you fo any institute that offers Registered Nurse courses instead of local colleges?

We Answered:

The local technical college probably has an L.P.N. course of study.

It may not coincide with your work schedule either.

It takes like 15 months or so in the LPN program. You actually get clinical experience almost immediately upon entering the course of study. That is not something you get at the community college or university--you get clinicals in the last year or 2.

Once you get the LPN, you can work at night as an LPN as well as get a year of credit toward the RN when you re-enroll in your local college.

This is not a well-known track for getting the nrsing degree and then the RN, but it's the smartest and cheapest way, in my opinion.

Glenn Said:

I want to become a registered nurse which colleges would you recommend?

We Answered:

any college that has a nursing school will do. in the long run, hopsitals and/or clinics don't care if you graduated from an Ivy league or from a community college and have a degree in nursing, there is a shortage in nursing so most likely you'll be hired on the spot working with others who graduated from different schools. as long as you have at least a degree in nursing and an RN lisence, you are good to go. As for college, go to the one that is more convenient for you and cheaper. you'll bedoing yourself a big favor in the end. it has to have a nursing program, obviously.

Irene Said:

can u name colleges for people who want to be an registered nurse?

We Answered:

You can go to almost any college you want to for that. Most community colleges offer 2 year courses for RN's now.

Just check around.
