Registered Nurse Information

Tim Said:

Which degree is better a 2 year degree as an registered nurse or a 4 year degree in information technology?

We Answered:

In my opinion, it would be an Associate Degree as an RN.....you can go back and get a BSN if you want one. RN's (ASN/ADN or BSN) start off around $23-27 an hour, with the earning potential going up to around $30-40+ an hour after only a few years. Plus, RN's work all different shifts, so if you have young children or are planning on having children, you can work flexible shifts and not pay a daycare to raise your own child.

Philip Said:

Could someone please give me some information about becoming a registered nurse in South Australia?

We Answered:

Contact SATAC and see what the requirements are to complete a mature age entry est - they used to be conducted at TFE, not sure now.

Then select the university you wish to go to - I think the only choice is UniSA at the moment in SA.

Information on a Registered Nurse please :)?

We Answered:

you'll need to get your bachelor's in nursing (4 years) and nurses actually make really good money and there seems to be a never-ending need for them. It's a good career choice, so good luck!

Information about RNs (Registered Nurse)?

We Answered:

There is a significant nursing shortage in Tennessee. There is an inadequate number of nursing faculty to meet the educational need of the state. In 2007 the Governor of Tennessee funded scholarships to allow nurses to complete graduate education to be developed to as nursing faculty.

The advantages are virtually guaranteed jobs, and mobility. A rewarding career field for those who are able to manage the stresses associated with nursing. The disadvantages are the stresses associated with nursing. These include short staffing, high amounts of documentation, minimal support, significant regulations which cause increased workload. Also there is the problem that nurses are required at health care facilities 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, so there are many shifts which are less desirable, such as weekends and holidays.

The salary range for an RN in TN is from $41,000 per year to 73,000 per year.

However, if an RN goes for further education and becomes an advanced practice nurse they can make $65,000 to $144,000 as a Nurse Practitioner or $100,000 to $300,000 as a CRNA.

As a Chief Nurse Executive they can make $80,000 to $280,000 in TN.

Hope this helps
