Sam Said:

How long does it take to move up fr a position as a registered nurse to the head of the department of nursing?

We Answered:

You need to become a RN first. Depending on where you live, RN jobs might be hard to get. A lot of hospitals are not looking for new grads, but RN's with experience. Then if you went right on for your MBA, you absolutely wouldn't have enough RN experience to run a department. You need to put in your time being a staff nurse, then move up the ladder with years of experience. Department head positions are not easy to come by and they do not come on a silver platter. Don't expect to be promoted quickly.
