Registered Nurse Training

Warren Said:

im looking for a licensed practioner nurse training or registered nurse course online?

We Answered:

You can obtain schooling through many schools. some probably in your area, however, to become licensed as an RN or NP, you still need to do clinicals. They will take time. I am not sure how many hours it is because i did my schooling the conventional way, but you can do most of the class time online. However, you say that you are unable to attend school, so I am not sure how you will attend clinicals.

Where Can I Take My Registered Nurse Training? What School Specifically?

We Answered:

Well where I live you first you have to take program prerequisites. Then you have to take a test and get accepted into the RN program. Google a community college in you area and call around and ask which schools have an RN program. Then go in and talk to a counselor and they will help you with starting classes. You can start your prereques in the fall, but not the RN.

"registered nurse" and "training"?

We Answered:

Depends on what type of nursing you want to do.
If you go to a med-surg floor after graduation, you should expect a 4-10 week orientation (depending on your skills, experience, and the hospital and their need).
If you go to a specialized unit (ER, ICU, NICU, L&D), expect a longer orientation. You're not only new to plain ol' nursing, but you're new to that speciality.

Read world nursing (different than what's learning in nursing school)- A year out of school you'll be doing a LOT. Depending on what floor you're on, how short staffed they are, and how good you are-- you could be in charge. No in charge of the whole floor, but functioning as a charge nurse or team leader. You might be expected to orient new grads (while you're thinking "But I'm still the new grad, aren't I?")
For nsg mgt- if that's what you really want to do. After you graduate, go right back into school. Chances are, where you work will pay for part or maybe all of your school. Do your BSN or MSN. Work a lot, get your experience, and show you're willing to go the extra mile. Get on board, volunteer for extra projects and come in when they're dying for help. It will help you get into the mgt position you want. Most of the time they want someone with a MSN. But you can get in with a BSN, and maybe even an associates degree with experience and intention to get a BSN.
HTH.

About how much does it cost to go through a Registered Nurse training program?

We Answered:

You should be able to check the tuition rates per credit hour at the websites of the schools you are considering, or by calling the admissions office.. While nursing classes do tend to be more expensive than the general credit hour rate, it would give you a starting point.

I went through an accelerated second-degree BSN program, so the rates were a little bit different because of the nature of the program. Still, it ended up being around $30k between tuition, books, and fees (private school, 13 months).
