having been in and out of the hospital various times since the fist of the year i can tell you with absolute certainty that any nurse that i got that was male was definately worth his weight in gold. it takes a dedicated man both emotionally and mentally to go through with that line of work. if that's what you want to do... screw everyone else. your friends won't be paying your bills for you so who cares what they think.


btw, stereotypes suck..... the whole male nurse thing is equal to people being surprised i can change my own oil and do my own brakes. it just takes passion to know what you like :o)

It's impossible to give a good answer to this question without knowing what aspects of your careet are most important to you:, such as
- salary
- opportunity for advancing to management
- job security in uncertain economic times
- the stress level of your work and workplace
- breadth of job oppotunities accross the nation and urban vs rural opportunities
- which job you would find more personally satisfying and rewarding (physical therapist offers more direct interaction?, nursing sees more people with more variety?)

Please think of a few more factors like these, then rank these factors so that respondents will have something more to base their answer on. (If this sounds like an exam question, well I used to be a professor.)
