How does my resume sound? Ten points!!?

We Answered:

This honesty is impressive! You've done a lot of things and committed quite a few for long periods of time very nice! People are bias to their own opinion so maybe leave out your political views, but it's your choice. Good job and good luck!

Does anyone think this is a well-written resume in a professional format?

We Answered:

Well, I spotted an error. Second paragraph, first sentence; "center at for department" the wording; "at for" doesn't make any sense. Also, if you have Microsoft Word, they have a palette that puts the document into a good looking resumé format. All you have to do is fill in the blanks...

Also, I would fix how you spell "Aide" because an "Aide" means someone who is an assistant to an important political person. "Aid" (without the "e"), is for helping or guiding someone or something... so you definitely want to change that.

I would have someone else read over you paper cause if there are any more mistakes like the ones i spotted, your interviewer is less likely to hire you if you can't spell things correctly or use proper grammar... just saying.

Hope this helps!

can u edit this resume and tell me what I need to fix?

We Answered:

Hi Dalton-
I think it's a really sweet letter and it sounds honest. I'd only make a few changes:
-Dear Hiring Manager (instead of "Children's representative")

- I'd like to be part of the process of working with patients from admission through discharge, and am committed to helping people on the road to recovery (instead of "I think it would be a nice place to work and see someone come in who has a lot of problems and to see them leave under their own power would make me feel good")

-I am extremely caring, compassionate, and concerned about others' wellbeing - I'm also always ready to take on new challenges. (instead of " am a very driven individual who is up to a challenge all of the time. Who is extremely caring, compassionate, and concerned about others well being. ")

-****-I don't think I would say the following line at all:
I am interested in a job where I can help people who are not as fortunate as me. My view on life is that no matter how bad you have it somebody has it worse.
-----while it's a really nice thought and a great outlook on life, it could be misconstrued as comparing yourself and the patients (like, what if you had a patient who was more fortunate than you?), and, when someone's really ill, the last thing he wants to hear is that someone out there is more ill (and maybe the hospital would be concerned you'd say something like that to a patient).

--There's a small typo in the word "where" ("county w`here I" )

--Just say "in the health field" (not "the health field of things")

--And, finally, "I look forward to discussing how I could be an asset to Nationwide Children’s Hospital. Please call me with any questions or to schedule an interview." (Saying you'll followup in 2 weeks can almost sound like a threat to a busy HR manager or it can give a lazy HR manager an excuse not to reach out to you first -- you absolutely SHOULD follow up, but no need to say you will.)

Hope this helps & good luck!!!!!!
