You may be right about Manhattan, but there are hospitals in Brooklyn, Queens,all over, Nassau County (just outside NYC on Long Island)
Just get your license in New York and you shouldn't have a problem.
Many places want 1 year experience, but you can get that working in a nursing home pretty easy.
After that,65K not out of the question, add a certification like ventilaor nurse and it goes up in 5-10k increments.
