School In Nursing

Janet Said:

Can you go from nursing school to med school when finished? How easily?

We Answered:

You get a little edge for being a nurse and having experience in the hospital, but not much.

You will be competing against all the premed college seniors in the country and you have to take the premed science and math courses which are all more advanced than what is taught for nursing. Nursing basic sciences are pretty watered down compared to pre med courses. Having taken the nursing courses you will do better for the first couple weeks of the term, but then it will all be new stuff.

Rebecca Said:

i want to work in a cafeteria in a school/nursing home, where do i go to find those job availabilities in ca?

We Answered:

You should visit the website of local hospitals, schools, and nursing homes by you. Just put the name of the place in a search engine and find its main site. I've searched on hospital pages (under their career/employment opportunity sections) and have found jobs to be a dietary aide.

Allison Said:

What is the best nursing school in the country?

We Answered:

I don't know if it's the best, but the University of Washington is outstanding. You could go there for a BSN or go to grad school and receive an ARNP; then you can diagnose and treat patients while working with a physician in private practice. UW also has an excellent medical school and an undergraduate Physician Assistant program if you feel like exploring any of those options.

Thank you for looking into nursing. The local hospital in my town (2 hours from UW- that's why I'm trying to steal you) has almost 30 openings for RN's at the moment. We need them desperately, I'm sure the rest of the country is the same way. Good luck!

Shawn Said:

Is it possible to find the email address for a local school nursing team?

We Answered:

Is it a local elementary or high school? Most school have a website that lists the employees- teachers, aides, nurses, etc. Just Google the name of the school, find their website and search Staff.
