Bruce Said:

Travel Nurses at the Univ. of MO Hospital just got a 3$/hr pay cut.?

We Answered:

per my niece you is a drn that is a little low -- of course it depends on where you are at == in the chicago are it is still over 25.00 an hour!!!

Allison Said:

I read about travel nursing, and it sounds great, but is there something similar for Physician Assistants?

We Answered:

Yes. There are several of these companies. You should have no problem finding one. I traveled as a Pathology PA with a company called CHG (CompHealth Group) and they take Physician Assistants as well. There are also opportunities to volunteer with groups like the Peace Corps and Doctors Without Borders if you are interested in working with under- served populations. Good luck!

Juan Said:

If I get my diploma in nursing in Canada and move to the US will they pay for me to get my BSCN over there?

We Answered:

In order to practice nursing in the US you have to pass the NCLEX-RN, for international nurses I think you have to pass an additional test.

For more info check out the website for the National League of Nursing
at www.nln.org

Im not sure about travel nursing agencies(I do know they pay very well though), but most US hospitals (specially those with magnet status)generally do have a tuition assistance program for nurses who want to get their bachelors degree.

Hope this helps, good luck!

Eric Said:

Are there traveling nurses out there that travel not only in the states but internationally?

We Answered:

You become employed by a travel company that deals with international nursing. Lots of foreign countries require a bachelors degree in nursing. The hours are what you want. If you want to work 3 -12 hour shifts, 5- 8 hour shifts. It depends on the company. Depends on your experience and your expertise and if you have any special training( ACLS, PALS, TNCC) most agencies want you to have or be able to acquire these certifications within 6 months on your pay. Most contracts are 13 weeks but can be extended. You have the ability to refuse a job contract also. Good Luck

Lauren Said:

How much does travel nursing pay?

We Answered:

It depends on the amount of experience you have, the area of nursing that you work and where you are traveling. To get an idea in the US, go to americanmobile.com and in the UK try continentaltravelnurse.com Good luck. I am going this route myself. I have my Bachelors in Nursing, 3 and 1/2 years experience in Neurology and am willing to travel all over.
