do ALOT of research before you choose a traveling agency. The bigger ones (NurseFinders) tend to treat you like a number where some of the smaller agencies are more personalized. I found lots of help thru other travel nurses at http://www.delphiforums.com/ then just do a search for travel nurse and the forum is large and varied. Nurses discuss good and bad assignments, good and bad agencies, and many other things that will become important to you as you travel.

Agency's do pay travel nurses more than regularly staffed nurses in a facility. In my area (Indiana/Ohio) travel nurses can make $30-$40/hr.
Agencies usually send nurses to an area for three months at a time. This means a lot moving, but also a lot of knowledge obtained in different areas of health care. Most agencies will require so much experience prior to traveling due to the wide range of positions that may be needed.
Other benefits can include gas mileage, airfare, and/or reimbursement for some hotel stays and apartment rentals. Check these out closely before accepting a position.

Your question is unclear. It sounds like you want each separate agency to pay the premium during the time of the 13 week contract. If so that could turn into a logistical nightmare. The only way you could do that is to set up your premium payments quarterly and make sure that the first premium is due at the beginning of a 13 week contract (most premiums are due by the first of the month). Then, one month before the next premium is due you will need to contact the insurance company and change your billing to send the bill to the agency that you'll be working for during the next quarter.

Are you also going to have the agency fund the HSA account? You'll want to make sure that the insurance company will accept the HSA payment at the same time as the premium payment. There are several companies that will do this.

You'll also want to make sure that the company has a nationwide network. Most companies are not in every state so that will narrow down your choices.

You should visit a local independent agent. This person knows the market in your area and can find any company that will meet your qualifications. The plans and premium is the same whether you use the agent or buy directly from the company.

Not only do they have higher wages, the benefits, such as the pension, travel expenses, enhanced hour payments all add up to make the trust a better bet. The NHS jobs website will show you the positions and wages that are on offer. Also this site will only show you the basic wage, NHS workers get on average an extra 25% on top of their wage for the unsociable hours that they work.
