Types Of Nurse

Neil Said:

Is there a way I can be a Maternity Ward Nurse?

We Answered:

I think you are out of luck on the nursing front. I'm not an expert on nursing, but even getting through school requires a lot of needles and no matter what part of a hospital you work in, nurses and needles go together like markers and whiteboards.

What you might want to look into is becoming a doula. Kind of like a midwife plus if I understand it correctly. You work with pregnant women preparing them for birth, you stay with them during delivery, and sometimes even beyond. There is, of course, an association of them and training, certification, etc. Link below.

We Answered:

Their are numberous jobs working as a newborn nurse you could contact your local Nursing program in your area and make a meeting with a councelor or maybe they'll have information/books/classes on what different jobs their are for nurses working with newborns.

Constance Said:

What type of nurse makes good money with no hard work!?

We Answered:

I wouldn't say a nurse's job is easy by any means, but I'd guess a dentist's nurse probably isn't as difficult as other fields.

Becoming a nurse, RN or different types.?

We Answered:

LPN / LVN - can become one with as little as a 12 month certificate / diploma program, but a few are full Assoc. Degree programs. Can work in clinics, nursing homes, hospitals, doing home care. Salary tops out at probably $20 per hour in most places.

RN - can become one with as little as an Assoc. Degree in Nursing (RN) which is 2-3 years (depending on how many pre-requisites you need), or, with a BSN which is 4 years of full-time study. Nursing is your major. Nursing programs teach you to care for all types of patients in various settings. You can choose to specialize in any area you wish, whether it's med/surg, OR, ER, pediatrics, ICU, labor & delivery, oncology, cardiac care, etc. You could work in any setting, hospital, home care, clinic, surgical centers, etc. Salaries for regular staff nurses (who perform direct patient care) usually start between $25-$35 per hour depending on where you work and live in the country. Salaries could top $45-$55 per hour for nurses with more years of work experience, higher degrees, or who work in management / administrative / supervisory positions. You can earn a master's or a doctorate degree to become a Nurse Practitioner, Clinical Nurse Specialist, Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist, Certified Nurse Midwife, Nurse Educator, etc, and could potentially make $70k-$100k per year somewhere down the road.

Charles Said:

What types of nursing programs does the Air Force offer besides the Nurse Enlisted Commissioning Program?

We Answered:

If your speaking Nurse specific programs.

You have the NECP and AFROTC Nursing scholarships.

But you can use any of the Air Force enlisted education and commissioning programs to earn a nursing degree.

Such as the SOAR program
AECP

Yes they are all competitive.

So competitive, you will have a hard time finding anyone who knows someone who was accepted.
