What A levels are needed in order to persue a career as a Veterinary Nurse or an Animal Behaviourist?

We Answered:

You should maintain an interest in science subjects and social science subjects like Psychology.

You can also consult the undergraduate prospectus of universities you're interested in for details of any admission requirements stipulatedsuch as specific A levels. Have a look at UCAS for universities which offer the course and go the university websites and request brochures.

Career as a Veterinary Nurse... where do i start?

We Answered:

I don't know where in the world you are, however you need to get a degree to be registered. This usually takes approx. 2 years of higher education at a college, university or polytechnic. Some vet nursing courses do not allow you to qualify for registration, so make sure the one you take is.

I suggest going to a vet clinic and asking them. They have vet nurses who will be able to tell you about where they went and if it was any good... Sometimes they also have a stack of course information for inquisitive people enquiring how to get qualified just like you...

Good luck

Does a career as a veterinary nurse take up all your time?

We Answered:

I actually think you ought to conduct an Informational Interview with someone who works in that capacity in your region.

See below links for people you could interview in your region about veterinary nursing careers.

The important term is.......... "Informational Interview". It can really quite be of some help if you talk to the right people.

Cheers

Once your a veterinary nurse, can you go on to become a vet?

We Answered:

well, that is a question best suited for the vet schools.

I would imagine it is possible if you do the vet program at the vet school.

A Levels & University Courses; ideas of a Veterinary career?

We Answered:

definitly do chemistry at college as well as biology or else most science degrees will be closed off to you. in my sources there is a list of veterinary schools in the UK. degrees in zoology or biology will open up oppurtunities in those specific fields, i would guess that you might be able to train as a vet after those (as i can train to be a doctor after biochemistry - am currently year 13), but, importantly any reasonable degree from a top 20 uni will stand you in good stead for the future. good luck :)
