Colleges Offering Occupational Therapy

Tracy Said:

Major-Occupational Therapy..?

We Answered:

I don't really recommend getting an Associates Degree in Nursing. If you want to be an occupational therapist, the fastest way to do it is to go to a school that has a program and go straight through it. I am an occupational therapist, and I took classes with friends who even got their Associates Degree as an occupational therapist's assistant, and they still had a much longer program than I did.

You see, the problem is that not every class will transfer from an Associate program, and after you do decide to go to a 4-year program, you will have to make up some lost ground. In the end, going from associates, to bachelor's to master's will be more expensive and frustrating if you don't just start off in an "entry-level Master's program."

If you go straight through, it should take you about 5 years, but a career in occupational therapy is definitely worth it. Good luck to you.

Will an Associates in Science Cover Occupational Therapy?

We Answered:

It is actually an AAS in physical therapy and an AAS in occupational therpay. You need to go to school that offers a COTA or OTA program if that is what you want.
