Is it possible to double major in 2 completely different fields?

We Answered:

NYU doesn't offer ocupational therapy go with a Bio major instead and if your acting career flops you can go to grad school and get an MD in Occupational Therapy.

The best CUNY for acting that's stuff but I'll have to say Cuny-Brooklyn College

We Answered:

Of course you can double-major in unrelated fields, but you can't major in a field that isn't offered on the undergraduate level, and it can be difficult at some universities that require you to enroll in one "school" to take courses in another, beyond whatever core and distributional requirements you have to meet outside of your major.

But it's up to you to research the universities in which you are interested and find out what majors they offer. Just go to the school's website and check out their major offerings.

On the NYU site, click on "academics" and then undergraduate education and start reading. The College of Arts and Sciences and possibly the Tisch School are what you want. If you have any questions, you must contact NYU yourself.

And that goes for the CUNY schools, too.

If you can't do all this research yourself, you may not be ready for college. This is your job.

We Answered:

Yes you can.

The reason people usually double major in two areas is(aside from being interested in both fields) that a lot of credits can count towards degrees in two areas. a lot of english classes can count towards journalism and a lot of econ classes can count towards business, which is why you often see pairings like that together.

As far as i know there are no overlapping courses aside from GE for those two careers, so at an average pace you would probably finish in six years, though with a heavier class load and summer school you could do it in five.

It should be possible to do both at any school that offers both as degrees.
