Vera Said:

What does an Occupational Therapist/ Assistant do?

We Answered:

An occupational therapist and a phsyical therapist are similar to one another. They help people re-learn (or in some cases newly learn) how to move or to improve the mobility they already have (like posture and flexiblilty) for people with disabilities, people that have been injured, the elderly, etc. They also teach life skills as well.

A registered physical therapist (doctoral degree) has to go to school longer than a registered occupational therapist (master's degree).

Occupational therapy assistants and physical therapy assistants help the occupational therapist by meeting and treating clients based on what the occupational therapist ordered for the client. And they are also under the supervison of the occupational therapist. At least for an occupational therapy assistant you have to go to school for only 2 years.
