Occupational Therapy Aide Jobs

Yolanda Said:

Where do I go from here?

We Answered:

Physical Therapy Aide would be most closely related to the education & experience you already have. Unless you no longer enjoy being a massage therapist, and would like a radical move into something totally different. Occupational Therapy can be more artsy-craftsy. Dental Hygienist: Not working with the body, but with teeth only. (Can you put up with bad breath & blood?) Radiology/Sonography tech is more with images, and might require further education. But I'd think that PT Aide would be something that you could easily transition into now.

Alex Said:

Occupational Therapy Assistant?

We Answered:

I live in Virginia and we are VERY IN DEMAND of COTAs. I am not sure about a job in an outpatient facility. I do know of COTAs doing home health, nursing homes, and hospitals - both of the hospitals offer outpatient. The goes as high as $30 an hour in a nursing home, $28 in the rehab hospital, and I think about $40 per home health visit - all or which depend on the company.
