You may need to try a different kind of brace. I would recommend checking with a hand surgeon to see what they say if you haven't already.Going to a hand surgeon for consultation doesn't necessarily mean that surgery will be done, it just means that they may have additional non-surgical options that can be of help to the situation.
I would recommend talking to your mom first even before the doctor to let her know what's going on with the situation to help you keep an eye on it.

Yeah very normal! Your hand was immobile for a few weeks, you're bound to not move it.I broke my metacarpal too and it took about 2 months worth of physical therapy!
Just do as the therapist says - baby it for a while and before you know it, you'll have your hand back to normal
