why are you asking these questions instead of him? the way you refer to the child';s mother is quite contemptuous. is your influence on this little girl any healthier than the men in her mother's life. i cannot understand why people insist on complicating their children's lives with step parents and boyfriends etc. I most particularly cannot believe how many of these non parents try the influence and control the parenting of children who aren't theirs. If you chose to involve yourself with a man who has a child with another woman, you must be prepared to step back and let him parent the child; there is really no role for you other than to support them in their role. how is this little girl helped with these revolving adults in her life, pointing fingers at each other rather than mutually supporting each other. why does he live in a different state than his child, particularly if he thinks the mother is a questionable parent? what is his first priority in life, that little girl? you? being right? it does not seem to be fatherhood.

Try applying at hospices and nursing homes.
Not as glorious as hospitals but it wil give you some work experience. Also try receptionist jobs at medical offices. Let them know you're serious about working hard, also it's very important how you dress for an interview. Get a business suit or just a dress shirt with suit pants or skirt.
It is not easy to find a job at this time, especially at your age. You have to make them understand that you're serious and dedicated worker, and not just a little girl with no plans. You're obviously not one. Try harder and apply to any job you come across.
Revise your resume, make sure it's professional. There are lots of examples online.
Keep your chin up and good luck!
And don't say your life sucks, you're only 17. At your age I was washing dishes at a restaurant and now I'm a scientist with a degree. ;)
