Occupational Therapy Masters

Lori Said:

Majoring in history can I still get a masters in Occupational therapy?

We Answered:

Most OT schools would love for people to have an undergraduate degree in like Exercise Science, Psychology, or somewhere in the sciences. They will require pre-requisites such as Human Anatomy/Physiology, Chemistry, Physics, Developmental Psychology, and the sort. You can still go to OT school with a degree in history, BUT you will need to make up those courses in science and psychology before applying to the masters program in occupational therapy. I am currently an undergrad studying Exercise Science which seems to fit perfect for getting ready for OT school. I am covering all my prerequisites within my undergrad major right now.

If you want to stick with history, I would go into Education and teach history. It's the same with someone majoring in art or english....anyone majoring in those would have a better chance at getting a job if they go into education.

Good luck with your decision!!!
