Bruce Said:

How do American university degrees work?

We Answered:

That means you need to obtain a Bachelor Degree in Psychology (or something equivalent) first, and then a Master Degree for the specific field you want. A BA or BSc could be obtained when you've completed a 4-year undergraduate program in any North American University. It's basically the same as the UK system you've mentioned except it's 4 years in US instead of 3 years.

When they say you need to have a baccalaureate first, that's because all psychologist, psychiatrist, or specific therapist are required to have at least a BA degree first. These occupation usually requires a minimum of a MA degree, and mostly a PhD as well. So you first step is to apply for a BA in Psychology (or equivalent).

Loretta Said:

Im in desperate need of an answer concerning this Radial Nerve Palsy I have. Ive had it for 3 months?

We Answered:

Unfortunately, I do not think there is a good Neurology website that would be able to help you. I would suggest you get a new primary care doctor in Florida and ask them which Neurologist they recommend you see. The primary doctor will know which Neurologist are good in your area. The radial nerve runs along the back of the upper arm around the triceps and can be compressed. This can lead to a temporary radial nerve palsy that will resolve completely in a few hours up to a day. Something more significant is going on in your case, since your symptoms have been for more than 3 months. The cause needs to be investigated and treated. Sometimes the bone in the upper arm (humerus) can be broken and compress the radial nerve, but I doubt this is the reason since you did not say you had a broken humerus. An injury in the radial nerve can also result in this. Nerve palsies can also occur secondary to other conditions and this is why you should have this evaluated completely.

Also, an occupational therapist is similar to a physical therapist. They frequently see people with nerve palsies and this is nothing to be scared about. Good luck.
