Occupational Therapy Programs

Eileen Said:

Occupational Therapy programs at University of Illinois at Chicago, or Governor State University?

We Answered:

because UIC is way expensive.

Dwayne Said:

Are there any entry level Occupational Therapy Masters programs that are offered online?

We Answered:

Yes there are, but you need a BS in OT before you can apply. You can not become an OT with an online degree, only a registered or licensed occupational therapist can upgrade their credentials online. It would be like getting a masters in nursing online without ever had any hands on experience. sorry

Tina Said:

What SUNY Schools Offers "Occupational Therapy" Programs? What CUNY Schools?

We Answered:

Information is below.

Warren Said:

are there any associate degrees that would improve chances of getting into an occupational therapy program?

We Answered:

A masters degree is required for OT licensure at this time. There are programs that are five year programs and incorporate a bachelor degree in that time. For those programs you would be applying out of high school, typically, and volunteering at a health related workplace would be highly regarded in admissions. There are post professional programs that accept students with a bachelor degree- those programs have accepted students with a variety of backgrounds, including psychology, social work, pre-med, equine studies and biology.

Philip Said:

Are there any part time Occupational Therapy programs near Philadelphia?

We Answered:

Most if not all professional programs are full time. The problem is that classess are only offered certain semesters. ex. OT 1 is offered in the Fall and OT 2 is in the spring. You cant take OT 2 before OT 1. There is probably a weekend program somewhere in the country as there in in PT but they are expensive and take much longer plus you have to add in travel and living. Also you must go to full time clinicals. It is hard to work more than 10 hours a week because of studing. There are scholarships out there. The national OT website is www.aota.org.
