Occupational Therapy University

Yvonne Said:

Occupational Therapy, what to major in if your university doesn't offer specifically occupational therapy?

We Answered:

I'm pretty sure any major will be ok as long as you take all the prerequisite classes (anatomy + physiology, psychology, stats, etc.) and meet all the minimum requirements to get into a graduate program to get your masters degree in OT.

Go to the occupational therapy association website (you can search for it on yahoo or goggle). Then from that website look up graduate programs you are interested in. Then go to the schools website to find out the classes you have to take before you apply. You can even contact the schools you are interested in and talk to your advisor to make sure everything will work out before you graduate from undergrad.

Help,Occupational therapy interview for university?

We Answered:

I am an OT, and I love it!
I'm not sure if you will be meeting with the admissions staff or the professors, but either way just be yourself. Don't try and present yourself as a "superprofessional" or anything.
OT's are confident, and flexible, and able to adapt to different challenges. We can work well with our colleagues and are good teachers of information.
I'm sure you've done some volunteering or something already as a requirement, so if you need to talk about something, use that.

Good luck!

Norma Said:

Which university is best for Occupational Therapy. I am in Ontario (GTA)?

We Answered:

The only school in the GTA that offers an OT program is UofT.

If you are willing to study outside of GTA, then go to UWO, Ottawa, Queen's, or McMaster.
