If you want to learn about computer theory then yea go for it, but if you want something to get you a job or a career I would advise against it, the University Degrees are heavily theory based I studied Computer Science for 3 years and got a degree out of 18 modules 5 were practical with programming the rest were heavily theoretical and gave no real practical eperience to help in a career, and haing earnt my degree and spoken to people working in the Industry and going on my own industry experence half the crap they teach in University people don't use, and the other half people have never heard of.The fact of the matter is that the ICT industry moves quickly and when you start a degree by the time you finish your qualifications are out of date the best thing to do is learn enough to get a foothold in the industy then learn on the job, you can do this through self teaching and applying for internships and creating a portfolio of you work usually in the form of a website showcasing what you can do.
