Undergraduate Occupational Therapy

Alma Said:

Occupational Therapy undergraduate background?

We Answered:

Any BS degree that can lead to a job is good if you plan on potentially not going to grad school. Of the ones that you listed, ECI, and health/kinesiology can all lead to teaching, which is always a good back up.

Anita Said:

If I want to get my Master's in Occupational Therapy, what should I get my undergrad degree in?

We Answered:

I would suggest going to a school that has a dual bachelor's/master's program. If you don't want to do that, you should get a bachelor's degree in OT, if they are still offered, otherwise you will just end up having to take undergraduate OT courses before getting accepted into a master's program. You will be required to take a lot of science courses, like biology, anatomy & physiology, chemistry, etc., so biology would be a good alternative degree. You should call someone at OSU for advice at any rate if that's where you really want to go. They will be happy to make suggestions. Good luck!
