The PTCB recently changed their methods and you can now get your test results as soon as you finish taking the test instead of waiting 2 weeks.

I recently wrote an article that will show you how to become a pharmacy technician without even going to school. I did it and got certified really quick, it's not a trade school or anything like that. All you have to do is get the book and study it and then take the test. The test is kind of hard but you can do it. It's a lot of information and I don't want to write all of it here but here is a link to my article where you can find out exactly how to do it.
