In my state, all you need to become a pharmacy tech is a HS diploma/GED and no felony convictions. That's it. Google "becoming a pharmacy technician in [your state]" to see if your state has any different requirements.

Many retail chain pharmacies such as CVS and Walgreens offer on-the-job paid training. I am currently trying to get a job at CVS because they have a much more lenient dress code compared to other pharmacies. I have 7 piercings :]

Rite Aid is a dying company.. I don't recommend it. Between CVS and Walgreens? I have worked for both and they both have their pros and cons.

In my personal experience (I worked at 4 diff Walgreen stores, and supervised 18 CVS stores), CVS Pharmacies tend to run smoother than Walgreens pharmacies (CVS filled more scripts per day, and received around 75% fewer complaints). They also have a better in house training program.

Where Walgreens excels, is that they tend to have more employees, their computer system is more advanced, and they have better PTCB study guides.

hello, well perhaps you need some collage experience. what they look for is that you have proof that you are studying the pharmacy career in some university. Its not funny Business, you should know!!! there are a lot of medicines out there. there a lot of different type of patients, i had experience with medicines in my nurse job, and they need professionals graduated or studying from some university, well later they send them off to hospitals to practice... i know its very expensive!!! but,that's what they want!!
