Government Pharmacy Jobs

Elmer Said:

Getting old and undecided?

We Answered:

I'm not sure why you are saying that being a firefighter would be tough if you want to support a family. With the schedules that many firefighters have, they are able to start businesses that they easily maintain during their off time. You might consider interviewing some firefighters to find out how they do it.

Of course, you could always go into politics - starting in local government or as an intern.

Below is a link where you can check further into the types of careers that are possible in public service.

Good luck!

Harold Said:

Is it contradictory to be both anti-crime and anti-drug?

We Answered:

Only Ron Paul has consistently voted against expanding the War on Drugs. He realizes that longer sentences as more enforcement are futile. Democrats should support this because minorities and lower income communities have been devistated by these policies.

War On Terror?
It's As Bad As War on Drugs
By Rep. Ron Paul
"I would like to draw an analogy between the drug war and the war against terrorism. In the last 30 years, we have spent hundreds of billions of dollars on a failed war on drugs. This war has been used as an excuse to attack our liberties and privacy. It has been an excuse to undermine our financial privacy while promoting illegal searches and seizures with many innocent people losing their lives and property. Seizure and forfeiture have harmed a great number of innocent American citizens."

What high-paying jobs are in the Humanities?

We Answered:

The biggest problem is the lack of tenure-track jobs for professors of humanities.

I would suggest that you consider psychology, which usually requires only one class in statistics besides the university-wide requirements of general education classes in the sciences. You need to go on for a Ph.D. or Psy.D. You can charge $200 per hour in private practice in some large metropolitan areas.

You could also consider research careers in politics and related fields. You need an M.A. or Ph.D. in political science or a related field and your job duties are producing research papers for legislative committees. In the right job, you would not become involved in political campaigning, etc. The pay is lower than in psychology, but it is certainly sufficient to support a family comfortably.

Sonia Said:

What classes should I take next year in high school if I want to major in Pharmacy?

We Answered:

I would take lots of science courses, like Anatomy & Physiology if you school has it, also take Physics and Organic Chemistry if at all possible. It is great that you interned at a Pharmacy because it will give you some experience, it will also be great to talk about if you have to write an essay or have an interview.
