Hospital Pharmacy Job

Tina Said:

What is a good job after a Pharmacy Technician?

We Answered:

The medical world holds a rich vein of different careers from the obvious nurse and doctor careers to adminstrative careers. My sister wanted to work in this vocation, but she wasn't sure precisely what she wanted to do. She stumbled upon the site in the resource box below, it has lots of tips and tricks, and it aided her to decide what she wanted to do. They have help with other jobs too.

I graduated and am certified as a Pharmacy Technician, but I'm having trouble finding a job?

We Answered:

Here are some suggestions that may be helpful.

1) Go to your local retail pharmacy's website such as a Duane Reade, CVS, Walgrees, etc and apply for a job.

2)You can also look at your local wholesale grocery club like BJ's, Sam's Club or Costco.

3) Take a look at a very useful website such as www.indeed.com type in pharmacy technician and the city you are looking for and I am sure you will find a listing.

4) Additionally since you are certified I am sure that your membership may offer some sort of job placement assistance or the ability to post your resume with them. There are also volunteer opportunities available in hospitals. I see them at the hospital where I work.

Best of luck to you!!

How do I go about finding a job as a trainee pharmacy technician in a hospital?

We Answered:

The first thing you need to look at is your state's pharmacy technician requirements. Every state is different, go here to see yours: http://www.pharmacytechnicianhq.com/. I would first, become a pharmacy technician, then volunteer some hours (as part of training) at a hospital pharmacy. It will be hard to get in, if you know someone it will help. Finally, while volunteering make sure you be a model worker and someone they would want to hire. Best of luck,
