Here we go again. Can someone Please help us find work in Illinois?

We Answered:

OK, so my first recommendation is apply at temp agencies in your area. This nice thing is they generally can get you work even if it is a little here and there. The extra money can really help. As for the babies dad, he can apply at laborer temp agencies. Basically construction companies call up when they need extra help, or warehouses may call when they have big loads coming in, that type of thing.

In the meantime, go to Il Dept of Employment Services. Here is the website.

http://www.ides.state.il.us/

They frequently hold job fairs. They can help you with resume developement, help you find jobs you are qualified for AND most have group meetings to monitor how things are going and to offer encouragement.

Hope this helps you. Good luck finding a job.

How much do Pharmacy Technicians make in Illinois?

We Answered:

About $9.00 - $9.75/hr. to start in retail pharmacy. Do you have your CPhT or do you just have your state license? If you have your CPhT you may make a $1 more especially at places like Walgreens. As far as hours, it all depends on what the pharmacy needs. At Walgreens there are usually 4-5 techs to one pharmacist (well, it is in my area).

Any good jobs for someone abt 50 yrs old?

We Answered:

All she needs is basic computer skills, good writing command and she's ready to become a writer. This could be done home-based, either part-time or full-time.

Donna Said:

where to apply for a pharmacy tech job in il?

We Answered:

You will most likely need to start out in retail. High-paying tech jobs like hospital or mail-order usually require at least 1-3 years of retail experience.

Honestly, you will probably make minimum wage or a little above it if you are lucky.

Jose Said:

I want to study pharmacy but I don't know which University to go to and if I'll be able to handle a job?

We Answered:

You can find the pharmacy school rankings at http://grad-schools.usnews.rankingsandre… , but personal fit is really what matters. UIC and Iowa are both in very different settings and have very different student bodies. You need to determine which one would feel better for you, because your personal experience outside of the classroom is directly connected to your success in it. Don't go somewhere that will make you unhappy. Do yourself a favor and either try to visit both before making a decision, or try to learn as much as possible about the non-academic factors at each school through their websites, guidebooks, and alums before you apply.

As far as working goes, most students in pharmacy programs find it very hard to do much of anything non-academic while enrolled -- the programs are simply too time-intensive. For that reason, you may want to consider going to a program that guarantees you enough financial aid to prevent you from having to do anything beyond part-time work. If you are going to work, try to find a position on or near campus and with very flexible hours.
