Intern Pharmacist Jobs

Christine Said:

Internship help?

We Answered:

I've never really heard of internships for kids that age, but summer camps or clubs might be a great way for them to experience new things. Otherwise, they could doing some job shadowing with friends and family, where they tag along with the family member for the day to learn what they do on the job. Also, they're getting pretty close to babysitting age, which is great experience and pays too! I imagine that most businesses are leery to offer internships to kids that young, because of child labor and whatnot, although I don't know much about that.

Gladys Said:

Question about track to become a pharmacist?

We Answered:

Pharmacies usually don't house interns unless they are already in pharmacy school. The easiest way to get experience in a pharmacy is to find a job as a pharmacy technician. If you can't find a job as a pharmacy technician, try to shadow a pharmacist in your local hospital. Earlier is better when it comes to getting pharmacy experience. The more experience you have, the better your application will look.

Some retail pharmacies offer great benefits to students who are currently in pharmacy school who agree to work for their company post-graduation. I believe that the companies are supposed to approach you with offers, but I'm not sure. If you can, it's better to not decide for sure on where you will work until you are at least in your third year of pharmacy school and you have a better idea of which companies are good to work for and which aren't.

As for paying for college, you'll just have to work, take out loans, and apply for scholarships. It's nearly impossible for a self-supporting college student to pay for school on time without loans or scholarships and even with a job. But the great thing about pharmacy is that once you get out of pharmacy school and begin work, within about five to ten, you should be living comfortably with your loans paid off.

Good luck!

We Answered:

They all require the FPGEE. It's a standardized rule.

Quitting a Job before you are fired?

We Answered:

leave it off of your resume? if you quit you can still answer no to that question they ask about being terminated for cause.

Carole Said:

Would this be an acceptional resume?

We Answered:

Leave your high school off. They just want to know if you have a diploma, most of the time, and that's on the application. Your name and address should come first, then your objective, work history, and education. Put reference available upon request and keep a separate document with their information to supply if they ask. You should also elaborate on your job duties more. You don't need to put on your name a second time. It just looks like you're filling black space (which is better filled by job experience).
