Is Pharmacy A Good Career Choice
Troy Said:
Is the navy or the air force a good choice to help my Pharmacy career? We Answered:
I would have said, "go talk to a recruiter," except... well...I'm a patriot... really... liberal/progressive that I am.
I support our troops.
But I HATE the military. It lies. Like a rug. It will promise something, and then do something very different. You can't even sue it for breach of contract.
I would not join the military unless it was being IN THE MILITARY which most interested me, not any of its potential fringe benefits...
...and that's because IT LIES... and you may never see them.
Conservatives, here -- especially those either still in the military, or those recently retired therefrom -- will take me to task for what I'm saying, here...
...but that doesn't change the PROVABLE fact that it lies. Period. It cannot be trusted, so do NOT do so.
It's nice that it's working out for your friend, but it could just as easily not. It may YET not. Only time will tell. (Fingers crossed, of course.)
Find another way. Seriously. Find. Another. Way. Please.
Hope that helps.

Is the University of Colorado at Boulder a good choice if I'm pursuing a career in Pharmacy? We Answered:
University of Colorado at Boulder and University of Nevada at Reno are good and much easier to get into than USC. I would recommend that you stay in state at least for your undergraduate degree. That will save you a lot of money. Colorado has one school for pharmacy - University of Colorado at Denver. Nevada also has one - University of Southern Nevada at Henderson. California has six:USC
Loma Linda University
Western University of Health Sciences
UCSD
UCSF
University of the Pacific
Don't worry about where you get your undergraduate degree. Just concentrate on doing very well!

Pharmacy, is it a good career choice? We Answered:
I'm a prepharmacy major and can tell you a couple things that I know. The salary for pharmacists is pretty good and depends greatly on which field of pharmacy you are planning on going into. Retail pharmacists with companies like CVS tend to make more than ppl in hospital pharmacies. Then there are the specialties you can go into. But I do know that fresh out of pharm school you could potentially make 80,000 to 100,000+ depending on your location and job offer. Secondly, it is a very stable profession with a wide array of career options. You can do so many different things and the expected job growth in the future is going to be much greater than the average job growth rates in the US. Pharmacy school will be demanding and you may have to work long hours, especially just coming out of school, but overall it is an excellent profession to go into and a great career choice.Grace Said:
Is Pharmacy a Good Career Choice? We Answered:
Yes... I know A LOT of people trying to get into pharmacy, including myself.Hours can be difficult, especially when you are first starting out. Weekends, holidays, and night shifts are not uncommon. Only go into this field if it something you feel like you are called to do. It takes dedication and a love for helping other people.
